Abarca to Lead CBI Conference Discussion on the Opioid Epidemic in America

Oct 30, 2018

Scottsdale, AZ — In November, Abarca will present at the 7th Annual CBI Pharmacy Benefit Compliance Congress on “Fraud, Waste, and Abuse — Monitoring Prescription Drug Programs,” about the current opioid crisis. The discussion will be led by Abarca Chief Legal & Compliance Officer Adriana Ramirez and Compliance Officer Ángeles Monroig.

“The opioid crisis in America is worsening,” said Adriana. “At Abarca, we are committed to finding ways to address this head on. And we look forward to having a thoughtful discussion with others in the industry to come up with real solutions.”

The Compliance Congress will be tackling pressing topics from around the industry, including:

  • The impact of current pharmacy benefit legislation changes and how individual states are attempting to regulate PBMs
  • Potential changes to drug manufacturer rebates and “safe harbor” status, and the impact on Medicare Advantage Plans
  • Incorporating grievance data into quality improvement efforts to enhance business operations
  • The benefits of sharing data with key stakeholders

The 7th Annual CBI Pharmacy Benefit Compliance Congress will be attended by executives from across the pharmaceutical, PBM, and insurance industries.
