National Men’s Health Week Puerto Rico: Abarca Goes All In
Every June, National Men’s Health Week shines a light on the importance of preventive care, regular checkups, and healthy lifestyles for men. At Abarca Health, we are proud to support National Men’s Health Week in Puerto Rico through education, awareness, and community activities.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), men are at higher risk than women for many of the leading causes of death, including heart disease, cancer, and unintentional injuries. Yet, many of these risks can be reduced through healthier choices, early detection, and preventive care.
The Oasis Community Program and Men’s Health
As part of our Oasis Community Program, Abarcans have coordinated initiatives to raise awareness during National Men’s Health Week in Puerto Rico. These included:
-
Educational sessions on nutrition, exercise, and preventive screenings.
-
Access to resources on prostate and cardiovascular health.
-
Volunteer activities to promote wellness within local communities.
Why National Men’s Health Week Matters
The goal of National Men’s Health Week is to encourage men of all ages to take control of their health. This includes scheduling annual checkups, knowing family health history, and following medical advice for chronic conditions like hypertension and diabetes.
By emphasizing prevention and healthy habits, we aim to create lasting impact for families and communities across Puerto Rico.

Abarcans Leading the Way in Puerto Rico
Abarcans are not just promoting National Men’s Health Week Puerto Rico—we are building a culture of care and responsibility that inspires action year-round. By partnering with local organizations and healthcare professionals, we reaffirm our mission: making healthcare awesome for everyone.
For men
- take action to avoid spreading the virus
- take action to get the best out of lockdown and the ‘new normal’
- take action to beat ‘underlying conditions’.
Abarca is committed to finding better ways to encourage the men in our lives to take care of their health, whether it’s your husband, partner, dad, brother, son, or friend you can help support their health and safety. This week let’s promote healthy bodies, physical exercise, good diets, and regular visits to the doctor so that we may help prevent and catch diseases early on.
